Digicel 1,000 USA & Canada Minutes & Unlimited SMS

[1].       Briefly explain the latest postpaid plans for international calls that are available from Digicel?

A.     Digicel has launched a new international postpaid plan 1,000 minutes to call USA and Canada plus unlimited World SMS text messaging only $89.

[2].       When was this launched?

A.    The 1,000 USA & Canada Minutes & Unlimited SMS was launched on August 21, 2009.

[3].       Can I call any network in the world and benefit from these plans?

A.    Yes.

[4].       Can I text any network and benefit from these plans?

A.    Yes.  Digicel customers may text any local or international network and benefit.

[5].       Are there new requirements to sign-up?

A.    The basic requirements remain the same as any other Digicel postpaid plan.

The requirements include a Cayman Islands drivers license or passport, deposit of $150 (does not include international roaming) or $200 (international roaming activated) and a local billing address.

[6].       Can I utilize direct debit each month to activate or do I have to visit a    

             Digicel store each month?

A.     Like all Digicel postpaid plans, this new plan is based on a one year contract.  During the initial activation, our customers are given the choice of direct-debit payments which proves to be very convenient and efficient. 

Once Digicel customers sign-up for any of these new plans with direct-debit mandate, your account will be automatically debited (deduction) for the $89  plan and you can then talk or text (***) without the need to re-visit a Digicel dealer.

[7].       Are customers able to carry dual plans?

A.     Yes. Customers are able to subscribe to dual plans.

[8].       Do I benefit from roll-over minutes?

A.     Yes.  All Digicel postpaid plans offer roll-over minutes by default.

[9].       Will I get a monthly bill?

A.                 Yes.  Like all Digicel postpaid plans, our customers are sent statements detailing all calls and charges, including calls made outside your bundle.

[10].     Am I able to use my minutes while roaming?

A.     No.  All minutes are usable whilst calling from the Cayman Islands only.

[11].     If I subscribe to this $89 postpaid USA/ Canada Plan only, will I be billed for any other call(s)?

A.      Yes.  Any call outside the USA or Canada will be charged at regular rates.  Additionally, calls exceeding the bundled package (1,000 minutes) will automatically be charged at regular calling rates.

[12].     How can I ensure that I keep my calling costs at its lowest but still get best value?

A.   Digicel $89 package offers the best value when calling North America.  To ensure that you get the best value when calling anywhere, Digicel customers have the added choice of combining this package with other postpaid plans e.g. $30 Local Plan.
